As Editor-in-Chief of Advances in Research in Mathematics Education for the period 2022–2026, I present some figures illustrating the journal’s recent development in this editorial. I would also like to express my gratitude to the authors, reviewers, readers and associate editors for their support over the years. AIEM was launched in 2012 and is now approaching its 15th anniversary. Therefore, it is a good time to analyse and reflect on where we stand and what our future directions might be.
