Abstract

In this study we analyze the main psychometric characteristics of the Attitudes Toward Statistics (EAEE) scale proposed by Estrada (2002) in a sample of 288 in-service or prospective teachers, 140 from Spain and 148 from Peru. The item analysis was made from a classical perspective and using the rating scale model (Andrich, 1978). The results suggest that three items did not achieve a satisfactory performance in the various criteria considered. The evaluation of the dimensionality and reliability of the resulting scale of 22 items indicate that the scale is reliable and presents evidence of multidimensionality.
